Would you like to become a partner in Ecouture Collective?

A creative community for designers who care about the environment

Ecouture Collective is a community of designers and craftspeople who share a desire to create beautiful products and works of art with care for the environment. We work in different ways. Some choose organic materials; others work with upcycling, redesign or repair, breathing new life into existing materials; whilst others produce locally, create one-off pieces or work in small batches. What we all have in common is that we make conscious choices and want to contribute to a more responsible way of creating and consuming. We also believe that we are stronger together. When we share experiences, inspire one another and open the door to each other’s customers, we all become more visible.

We are always on the lookout for new designers and craftspeople who would like to become part of the community at our shop on Gråbrødretorv and in our online shop.

Who is Ecouture Collective for?

Perhaps you design clothes, jewellery, ceramics, textiles or something else entirely. The most important thing is not which category you fall into, but that you have a distinct identity and create with care.

We are looking for people who are passionate about their craft, who work thoughtfully with materials and production, and who want to play an active part in a community. We believe that we become stronger when we share experiences, inspire one another and celebrate each other’s work. We are growing steadily and building our community thoughtfully, so that people, design and values all fit together harmoniously.

More than just a retail outlet

As a partner, you’ll become part of a community where we share visibility, experiences and customers. Each designer brings their own network and their own audience with them, and that makes us all stronger. When a customer comes in to visit one designer, they often discover the others – and that is precisely the strength of a collective.

We run the shop together and help each other out when needed. Sometimes it’s brainstorming an idea, other times it’s lending a hand or covering a shift. We each contribute what we can and have the energy for.

Being self-employed can sometimes be a lonely journey. With us, you’ll find colleagues who understand the day-to-day, because they’re in the same boat. We share the shop, facilities and practical expenses, meet up from time to time to exchange ideas and plan activities, and everyone has the opportunity to influence the ongoing development of Ecouture Collective.

The shop is also a space you can make active use of. If you have a customer who would like a private viewing or a special appointment, you can use the shop outside normal opening hours. This allows you to invite customers into a peaceful and atmospheric setting right in the heart of Gråbrødretorv.

Among other things, the partnership provides access to:

- A permanent space in our shop and showroom on Gråbrødretorv

- Visibility on the online shop, social media and in the newsletter

- 95 per cent of your own sales

- A creative network offering support and knowledge-sharing

- Opportunity to help develop activities, events and joint initiatives

The shop

In the heart of Gråbrødretorv lies our small, historic shop, carefully restored with respect for the building’s history in collaboration with the National Museum of Denmark. The shop is a tranquil and atmospheric space where each item has room to tell its own story. Here, customers do not just buy products – they encounter the designers, the craftsmanship and the ideas behind them. If you’re curious about the history of the place, you can read more here: The magical story of the premises

Practical Information

- 1,600 kr. per month + VAT – including operating costs

- No commitment or deposit required

- Approx. 2–3 shop shifts per month, as the shop is run collectively

- Option to purchase assistance from our staff, if that suits you better

The story behind Ecouture Collective

I’ve experienced first-hand what it’s like to build a creative business from the ground up. It offers great freedom, but it can also be a lonely journey. That’s why the dream of Ecouture Collective was born – a place where we can share experiences, inspire one another and stand stronger together, whilst each of us retains our own style and our own business.

I don’t think we need to do it all on our own. Quite the opposite. I wanted to create a place where we can retain the freedom that comes with being independent, whilst at the same time finding strength, inspiration and security in a community. Perhaps we’ve never needed to stand together more than we do right now.

My own design universe lives on as Hêlger Design, where I work with micro-fashion, pre-orders, limited editions and one-offs. If you’re curious about my own journey and my work, you can read more about me and Hêlger Design here →

    1. Hi Per-Ole, what beautiful signs you make. I'll send you a private message. Best regards, Johanne

  2. Hello Johanne, I work with ceramics and so on.

  3. Hello
    Tanja Foss JoJo here.
I create whatever ideas might pop into my head.
But I imagine my diaries – or ‘my first book’ (drawing books for children, or parents’ memories and notes about their child), my cards for all those special gift-giving moments – my flower lamp, or perhaps my visual art could be a good place to start.
I have an Instagram account you can have a look at: @jojoartbytanjafoss
I hope you’ll get in touch if you find yourselves becoming more curious and need further information.
I’ve run my own shop in Frederiksberg for many years. Otherwise, I work as a freelancer. I grew up in the world of theatre – and have been involved in it all my life.
    Kind regards, Tanja
