Here's how you do it:

Storage and shelf life

It is best to store the products in a dry place, away from direct sunlight. Gitti also recommends not leaving the bottles open longer than necessary.

The products have a shelf life of 12 months after opening and 30 months unopened.

To prolong shelf life, the product should always be stored tightly closed, in a dry place and protected from direct sunlight and heat.

Disposal

Although Gitti nail polishes are based on innovative and more sustainable formulas, they should not be disposed of with regular household waste.

1. Empty the bottle by pouring a little nail polish remover into the bottle and shake it thoroughly until the residue is dissolved.

2. Dispose of the paint residue as hazardous waste - follow the instructions of your municipality.

3. The lid with brush can be disposed of with normal household waste.

4. The empty glass bottle can be returned in the glass container for recycling.

Gitti goes beyond EU cosmetics regulation and avoids 23 potentially harmful ingredients that are still used in many conventional nail polishes. Here are some examples:

• In addition to the ingredients already banned in the EU, Gitti's nail polishes are formulated without 23 particularly questionable substances that are still used in many conventional nail polishes.

  • Mineral oils and waxes
    According to the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP, 2015), these are potentially harmful to the marine ecosystem and can come from non-renewable sources.

  • Formaldehyde and formaldehyde releasing substances
    Classified as carcinogenic (class 1B).

  • Rosin
    Known to be allergenic and in certain contexts carcinogenic.

  • Toluene and other solvents
    Suspected endocrine disruptors and harmful to health.

  • Synthetic mineral pigments (e.g. Bismuth Oxychloride, Chromium Oxide Greens, uncertified Mica)
    Raises both environmental and ethical concerns and can cause allergic reactions.

  • Sulfonamides (Ethyltosylamide)

  • EDTA compounds
